TOKYO 2020 | INTRODUCTION
In response to the crowd sourced contest in Japan for an open call to redesign the Tokyo 2020 logo, I asked my daughter's preschool class to design the logo. The 3 year old children were given colored shapes to create their designs. All logos were completed within the strict official IOC design guidelines. This project was developed for educational purposes only, the children's faces have been blurred and names change to protect their identities.
No designs were submitted to the actual contest being held in Japan as designs were created in the U.S. As a creative professional working in the sports branding field, I felt it was important to discuss the significance of creativity and expression in logo design over the trend of crowdsourcing.
